ZipZag is an approach to online testing that uses the ZipGrade platform to streamline assessment. It eliminates the need for physical test copies, is quick to set up, easy to manage, secure, and reduces paper use while integrating seamlessly with the CrissCross process. For students, ZipZag provides valuable practice with online assessments, helping them become more comfortable with digital testing.
CrissCross is a collaborative assessment process that helps students review and learn from their test performance. Students first complete an assessment individually. After results are recorded, students with similar performance are grouped into small teams to revisit the assessment, discuss their reasoning, and correct misunderstandings.
During this process, teams may request feedback scans to guide their thinking. The team’s final responses are scored, and the teacher reviews the results to determine each student’s final grade while identifying areas that may need further instruction.
Together, ZipZag and CrissCross create an efficient assessment system that streamlines testing, helps teachers meet board policy requiring students to review and interpret assessment results in class while reducing the need for retesting and lowering failure rates.
